Performance highlights, market analysis, and tips for investors. Outperform the S&P 500!

Hello everyone!

This week, my portfolio shone once again, with big winners like $LDO.MI from Leonardo S.p.A. rising an impressive 6.34%, boosted by news of potential satellite partnerships with giants like Airbus and Thales. Following were $AAPL from Apple with a 4.06% gain, thanks to optimistic analyst forecasts betting on a 50% growth in share price, and $TSLA from Tesla advancing 3.36%, benefiting from positive target price updates from banks like Deutsche Bank, which highlight the potential in AI. $RR.L from Rolls-Royce Holdings PLC gained 2.83%, in a rising aerospace sector, and $IBE.MC from Iberdrola S.A. rose 2.34%, with projections of record profits for 2025. All this while my portfolio continues to outperform the S&P 500 by over 70% in the last 12 months, with a YTD return of 20.74% against the index’s 12.96%. And the best part: 100% of my copiers are positive this year!

Market Overview

Moving on to the overall market overview, the week from 22 to 28 September was marked by volatility, with investors reacting to Fed speeches and mixed economic data. On the 22nd, Monday, indices hit records, with the Dow, S&P 500, and Nasdaq reaching new highs, driven by AI partnerships like Nvidia’s with OpenAI. But on Tuesday the 23rd, a correction came: the S&P 500 fell 0.55% to 6,656.92, and the Nasdaq dropped 1% to 22,573.47, due to doubts about the sustainability of the AI rally. Wednesday the 24th and Thursday the 25th extended the declines – the S&P fell another 0.50% to 6,604.72 on the 25th, with the Nasdaq following –, reflecting concerns over inflation and employment slowdown. Fortunately, on Friday the 26th, markets recovered with inflation data rising only 0.3% in August, giving the green light for Fed rate cuts. In the end, the S&P 500 retreated 0.3% for the week, and the Nasdaq gave up 0.7%, in a mix of sectoral selectivity and macro events that demanded caution.

What really moved the markets were the key macro and sectoral events. Speeches from Fed members, like vice-chair Michelle Bowman, discussed additional rate cuts, energising sensitive sectors like technology but pressuring others with fears of persistent inflation. In aerospace, $LDO.MI and $RR.L benefited from talks on mergers and defence investments, despite drops in other sector stocks due to rumours of a Middle East ceasefire. $AAPL gained with optimism around the iPhone 17 and potential partnerships with Intel. $TSLA rose with analysts raising targets to 600 dollars, focusing on advances in autonomous vehicles and AI. In the utilities sector, $IBE.MC stood out with projections of 6.4 billion euros in profits for 2025, driven by renewable investments. Additionally, data like revised US GDP, consumer confidence, and home sales added volatility, but reinforced the strategic view of betting on resilient and innovative companies, like those in my high-conviction core.

Risk Management and Philosophy

Regarding risk management, I keep my Risk Score at 4, well below 5, with no leverage to avoid unpleasant surprises. Diversification is key: my portfolio spans sectors like technology with $NVDA, $MSFT, and $META, aerospace with $GE and $HWM, utilities with $VST and $IBE.MC, and even crypto like $BTC-USD, plus solid ETFs like $VOO and $QQQ. This allows navigating weekly volatility without major swings, focusing on long-term accumulation.

As always, I share lessons from my Santiago1000 Manifesto: invest with regular monthly deposits to harness compound interest, have patience in selective moments like this week, and focus on gradual accumulation. That’s how we build lasting wealth, whether for beginners or high-net-worth investors.

To my growing community: a sincere thank you to the new copiers and followers who joined this week. I’m here to share ideas and answer questions – feel free to interact!
