Copiers and Followers Update – WEEK 01 (December 30th to January 05th)

Good morning,

Hello, how are you all?

Another week in green for the portfolio! It’s great to start the year in green. But I really won’t be deceived, I know the challenges that will be imposed for 2020. I will be careful not to fall into any “trap”. For the week, the portfolio added +0.82%.

2019 was a year of hardship for me. Especially recover from a backache crisis. Overcoming the pain and on top of that I was able to consecrate Brazilian South American Champion Jiu Jitsu.

(Seeking Alpha) The S&P 500 and Dow Jones averages posted their biggest one-day losses since early December on Friday in the wake of the U.S. airstrike that killed Iran’s top military commander, lifting oil prices and escalating Middle East tensions. But the major averages recovered some ground later in the day as oil prices came off their lows, with WTI crude $OIL settling +3.1% higher at $63.05 per barrel after spiking as much as 4.8%. Risk sentiment also was dimmed by the weakest reading for the ISM Manufacturing Index since June 2009, which raised concerns of slowing U.S. economic growth. For the week, the Dow $DIA $DJ30 finished down less than -0.1%, the S&P $SPY $SPX500 slipped -0.2% and the Nasdaq Composite $QQQ $NSDQ100 added +0.2%.

In a study published Jan. 1 in Nature, researchers showed that Alphabet’s $GOOG DeepMind AI unit could match or outperform radiologists at detecting breast cancer, though doctors still beat the machines in some cases. The model reduced false positive rates by 5.7% in the U.S. and by 1.2% in the U.K., while also lowering false negatives by 9.4% in the U.S. and by 2.7% in the U.K. While the algorithm isn’t yet ready for clinical use, it marks the latest step in Google’s push into healthcare.
